Enabling Tomorrow's Leaders To Make Better Business Decisions Today
Business Acumen for Emerging Leaders is a course developed specifically for the extraordinary, High Potential Managers and Supervisors in the energy industry.
Once, energy industry leaders were exposed to virtually all aspects of the business during their long, steady ascent to the top ranks of their organization. Today, leaders are rising through the ranks faster, with less opportunity to develop vital skills, functional knowledge, and enhanced industry experience. In response to the industry's need to fill this developmental gap, rising stars have joined the ranks of this intensive, industry-specific program providing:
- A solid understanding of general business concepts and skills
- A significantly enhanced comprehension of the energy industry
- An engaging classroom environment led and attended by the industry's top talent
- Group assignments and structured peer learning culminating in a final presentation
- An increased ability to make intelligent business decisions specific to their job
Faculty and speakers include industry executives and experts, giving students the opportunity to learn from - and network with - current and emerging industry leaders.

| 2010 Business Acumen for Emerging Leaders Course Registration
|
Students attending this course must be nominated and submit to an application process. The class is strictly limited to 25 seats and will be populated by emerging leaders representing Western Energy Institute's diverse membership.
Tuition for all five sessions is $3,250. Estimated travel expenses to attend five sessions are $4,200 (including meals, travel, incidentals estimate, staff support, and course materials.) Applications are due November 13, 2009.

Please Note:
Accepted students do not need to register online for Sessions One through Five. However, Session Five runs in tandem with the 2010 Annual Meeting. If you plan to attend the Annual Meeting in addition to your participation at the Business Acumen level, please notify Becca Petersen, Program Manager with your intentions as soon as possible.
A detailed agenda and copy of the course curriculum will be sent by the course facilitator, Heather Burns in advance of each session by email. A generic agenda for purposes of planning your travel arrangements is available under the “Agenda” link in the navigation bar above. This agenda is subject to change for optional networking activities, so please watch your email for any updates and re-visit the generic agenda for additional information pertaining to optional networking activities as it becomes available. Once students receive a copy of the roster, they are free to organize optional networking activities that do not conflict with the program's scheduled events.
